From the moment you first arrive at the New Hampshire Neurospine Institute you will feel the care and professionalism that has made us a recognized "Center of Excellence." You will be greeted by one of our patient relations team and they will assist you in preparing for your visit. Our staff is here to help you through the process of evaluation and treatment with the goal of making it as convenient and comfortable as possible.

Our warm and inviting reception area with its ergonomically designed chairs allows you to relax comfortably while waiting to see your provider. You will be asked to complete an intake form specifically suited to the condition we are evaluating. A nurse or medical assistant will meet you in the waiting area and escort you to a comfortable exam room where they can obtain additional information in a private setting that assures patient confidentiality. During this time your specialist will be reviewing your medical records and previous diagnostic tests in detail. Our fully integrated electronic medical records system allows secure access to your records from multiple locations. This allows the specialist to spend a significant amount of your appointment time developing a plan and discussing your treatment options.

Your evaluation may also involve diagnostic tests such as x-rays or MRI both of which can be performed on-site, if you desire. If an MRI is needed urgently it can often be done at the time of your initial visit to allow for a treatment plan to be started immediately.

Our providers have been trained at some of the finest institutions in the world. They offer the latest and most technologically advanced brain, spine and orthopaedic procedures in this unique setting.

Our Physiatry department offers both conservative treatments and therapeutic interventions such as epidural steroid injections sometimes at the initial visit if indicated. They also perform nerve conduction studies and EMGs to help fine tune the diagnostic workup and guide a treatment plan.

Our physical therapy department offers state-of-the-art modalities such as manual traction, massage, and electrical stimulation in private treatment rooms. The spacious gymnasium includes a full complement of aerobic and resistive exercise equipment to restore your body to its fullest. An integral part of your treatment will include instruction in and implementation of an exercise program that you can continue with once you leave our facility.

We recognize that spine and brain surgery can be an overwhelming experience and we believe that surgery should be the last resort. However, if various non-operative treatments have been attempted without improvement or worsening of symptoms then surgical treatment seems reasonable for specific conditions. The decision for surgery is individualized to the patient and the patient's symptoms, along with their level of function.

With our unique integrated approach, all of these specialties work in concert to develop the best treatment options available to you and to organize them in a convenient fashion. The NHNSI team will also coordinate closely with your personal primary care physicians to ensure your treatment is consistent with other aspects of your overall health.
